Dr. Cherisa I. Jerez is a proud Latina originally from Miami, Florida.
A graduate from the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in accounting, she commissioned as a second lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corps in 2005. She served on active duty and in the US Army Reserves, earning the rank of Major in 2017.
She holds an MBA from Webster University and a Doctorate in International Business from Liberty University.
In 2008, Cherisa transitioned from active-duty military service to medical device manufacturing. She spent fourteen years, in a series of operations and supply chain roles of increasing responsibility, including a position as a Senior Director of Operations where she was responsible for legal teams in support of the fight for VA Disability benefits and growth of the mass tort division.
She currently serves as Co-founder and Vice President for Ashire Technologies & Services, Inc. an SDVOSB and 8(a) company specializing in cyber security support for the Department of Defense.
In addition to her business endeavors, Cherisa’s debut novel AT THE ISLAND’S EDGE, a fictional account of a female Army medic returning home to Puerto Rico after two tours in Iraq and struggling with the effects of Post Traumatic Stress is scheduled to be published via Lake Union in February 2025.
